You all have no idea how ugly it is getting!
Each day we get a little closer to February 1st, and with each of those days, the Ultimate Ugliness approaches!
Here at the IAP we see PRETTY pens all the time. Heck, I would say that many are even BEAUTIFUL! Even Newbies who are showing us their very first pens made from splinters off of 2x4s are producing LOVELY pens, with great finishes and very pleasing forms!
But where are all the UGLY pens??? They're out there, I know! Creepy, crawly, ugly little things that drop off your lathes and land with a greasy plop, just to be hidden away like somebody's pimpled sister? No, no, no! You have to stop hiding your talent in making these monstrous pointy things!
The time is nigh to let out all this ugliness! The Ugly Pen Contest is almost here! Come February 1st, the Birthday Bash begins, and you will get a chance to let out all that UGLINESS that you have been keeping pent up for the past year! As in past years, this year you can enter up to two ugly pens per person, with up to three pictures of each pen. And each entry not only can be NAMED, but you can also present it's LIFE STORY when you enter the contest! So while you're taking all those UGLY PICTURES, you should also put on your Creative Genius caps and write the most interesting story of each strangely named pen-like item you want to enter!
Oh sure, there will be other contests during the Birthday Bash, but those contests will just be a parade of more endless, PRETTY pens, and why involve yourselves with all of that, even though there will be HUNDREDS of wonderful and valuable prizes offered? Be cool this year, and dare to show your UGLY side!
The clock is ticking - you need to start getting your UGLY on!
