I can get a price for you next week, if you'd like. I work for a metals supplier. Are you looking for 6061? I can generally get stuff pretty cheap, especially as small a piece you want.

If you have a local Grainger in the area check with them. You might have to by a 12 inch long piece, but you can save money on the shipping by picking it up at the store.

That's true, I doubt, with shipping, that I could get it cheaper. Small flat rate box is $8.30 alone.
