Inserting cap studs

Inserting cap studs threw the clips on Gentlemen Pens are a pain in the ***. Any special way to get clip over stud, so it will insert in tub right?

Sorry, Tom, but I've not had that problem and am having a hard time envisioning what you may be experiencing.

Putting the top cap threw clip it is so tight then trying to push it in to the tube it sometime starts crooked.

Oh, I see where you're going. Do your best to start it straigt. This will require one hand holding the finial square to the blank while you use the other to operate the press mechanism you are using. If you turned the cap such that it is rather bulbous, you will have even greater difficulty in holding the finial straight. As you press, do so slowly and resquare the finial as necessary.

I use a slightly different method. Press the stud in just a few mm to get it straight. Then attach the clip and cap. Press the rest of the way in.
