Late last year, the price on Epson ink cartridges went up about 3 dollars. Too high a cost for too little ink. So I installed a Continuous Ink System (CIS) on my Epson R-260 printer. All I can Say is "The System Works GREAT". The cost was only $74. The ink tanks came pre-loaded with 100ML of ink plus a 100ML bottle of each color. That 200ML of each color, and there is only 3ML of ink in each Epson cartridge. A 100ML replacement bottle of ink costs $6.00
It took me about 10 minutes to install the system. The assembly that replaces the ink tanks is one piece and snaps in where the ink cartridges went.
It worked so well that I installed CIS on our two workhorse printers. Epson Workforce 7520. LOML and I print about 2500 to 3000 sheets per month. We print on 13 X 19 sheets and have never had to Clean The Printhead since installing the CIS.
I am going to make a SWAG and say the we have saved over $1500 in ink costs this year.
The only problem I have had was, I let one of the tanks run out of ink. It took a while to purge the air out of the lines.
I do not know if there is a CIS for other makes of printers, but a google search should answer the question.
