Outboard end? How is it held on? What are the division combinations you can do? How big is the lathe? Questions. Questions. Questions.
Thanks and looks good too!
Sorry I should have given a little more info.
Its on the outboard end and is held with the split collet style.
it has 60 , 48 , 36 and 14 hole pattern with all the divisions that, that combination gives you
it's a King 12 x 36 lathe.

Mal a 14 hole patten gives the option of a 7 faceted turning. 24 can be had from the 48. From those you can get divisions of 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,10...well you can do the math. ;)

OK .... got it .... well .... I'm not really sure !!! .... LOL !! . Cuz, how do you drill at 25.71428571 degree intervals ?

The number 14 was unexpected at first glance, whereas 24 is common, and I did not "trig" to the 48 being a multiple of 24 ! ..... Duhhhhhhh !!!

And you said .... " .... well you can do the math." ..... Really ? ..... I am not so sure that I CAN !!!! .... LOL !!!

Mal you have change gears for your lathe don't you? Any of them have a multiple of 7 teeth? Put a bolt through it and grab it with the chuck and use it to set up for drilling the backing plate. If not look for something else with the divisions you need like a bicycle sprocket. Or scoot down to Princess Auto and get a #35 weld-on chain sprocket with 28 death for $8.99. https://www.princessauto.com/en/sea...Nrpp=50&Rdm=759&searchType=simple&type=search Someone else has done the spacing for you. ;)
