In a bind

I have a PSI TurnCrafter Pro VS lathe. The face plate that just screws on will not break to take it off to put my Baracuda Chuck system. I have only had the lathe for about a week this is the first time I have had this problem. Any and all suggestions on getting it off will be appreciated.

You need more force. Do you have a wrench that you can hold the headstock with?

Once you get it off, do yourself a favor and make a plastic washer (like from a milk jug) that you can use in-between the headstock and faceplate/chuck/etc. Will save yourself a lot of trouble next time.

leverage is your friend! bolt a long piece of something solid to the faceplate and pull!
