I stumbled on to this article, with some very sound and good advice. What a great way to use our current technology that all of us are carrying with us anyway.

The mere act of taking this type of precaution will step up our "parental" awareness. The result is likely to lessen the likelihood our child would actually go missing on any given day. (This thought presented by an appropriately paranoid "Grandpa".)

Andrew you don't have a cell phone?

No cell phone for me. I have an old Rotary dial phone we use every day, and I bought a cordless so we could call places that require the 'press one to talk to an operator' sort of deal.

I have too many friends who rely on their phones and iWhatevers for entertainment - my wife and I decided we don't need the distraction (especially for the extra cost).

And here I thought I had won the race to be the last man in the Western Hemisphere without cell phone years ago!
