I got it in the UK. The folk at Pen Crafts just call it a "Combo."

what is your opinion of its functionality?

The click pencil works as well as any other. The pen parts fit well into the nib finial, so it doesn't clatter when you write. The kit is easy to make. The transmission is easy to turn, but I wish it had a more obvious detention point when it was in the "off" position.

If I have one complaint, it's that the silicone rubber grip is really difficult to keep clean! It attracts all sorts of dust and crap. On the upside, the grip is fit loosely over a regular pen tube, so there'd be no problem replacing it with a piece of wood matching the top half! Unfortunately, I didn't think of it until afterwards and I had cut my "scrap" from the button end, so the grain won't match.
