I've been accumulating blanks since 2005 and I've just got too many. At various times, I've seen posts about people that are beginning turning but they are on a very limited budget. That is the person I am targeting this thread to.

I have 3 maybe 4 flat rate boxes 7 x 7 x 6 1/2 packed as full as I can get them. These are not firewood but they're not $10 blanks either. Well, most of them aren't. The majority of them are ones that will make nice looking pens but you're not going to cry (hysterically) if you blow them up while learning to use the skew or practicing your CA finish technique.

I can just about guarantee there are some species of wood in there that most turners will never see in their lifetime. I have so much of it, that I need to clear some of this away so I can cut up some of the new stuff and see what that looks like.

Please post if this topic applies to you or you know someone that it does apply to.

I am also paying the shipping.

I'd be super grateful if you could ship me some. A couple members have sent me a nice little collection of blanks already so I understand if you'd rather someone else but if this goes on for a bit, please keep me in mind.

i would love to have some blanks if u want to send some...i've been turning for a couple of months and could use some more..pm me if u need my address thanks steve

I give pens to wounded warriors I hunt with and other military folks I work with...

Smitty gave me a bunch, would do the same thing with these if you wanted.

Looks like I'll have to turn this into a lottery style giveaway. I'm going to wait a couple more days to see if anyone else joins in and will ship after the New Year.

I just joined these forums and can't wait to be an active member here....I have been turning pens for about 2 weeks now and I love it, I'd be really interested in a box of blanks! Thanks!

I have been turning pens now for about 3 weeks. If I don't go by the wayside with this addiction for pen making my wife is going to shoot me for sure. Anything you feel like throwing my way would certainly be greatly appreciated.

could i get in on this.. i have not gotten to finishing yet but need some practice. i turned a couple slimline blanks/// till brass showed up! i need to practice more..lol i would be glad to toss the forum a few bucks as a donation in your name. thanks john

The winners are

1. Ambidex
2. Spanx
3. brownsfn2
4. tim foster
5. Grant H

I need addresses pm'd to me for Ambidex, Spanx, brownsfn2 and Grant H.

The only thing I ask is that someday when blanks are over-running your shop, send some (maybe some of these) on to somebody just starting out.

A Big Thank You

I wanted to say Thanks to Jon Piper. (GoodTurns) He has volunteered to send a couple of boxes. So Tim Foster and Grant H will receive their boxes from Jon.
Thank you Jon.

Hi Mark; Just something for you to consider; there are some old/older turners that are on very limited budgets as well. I don't count myself as one of them.

I'm just putting in a word for some oldsters that may be too proud to ask!

That's who I intended this for.

Mack,
I fully understand and honestly, that's who I intended to target.

I am a lucky guy in that I can walk. Out my door and into my shop where I've been able to accumulate wood from around my house(s). Not everyone is able to do that.

If you know of someone like Mack suggested or if you are someone like that, please PM me.

Just turned my first pen!

I just turned my first pen a week ago and I am going crazy just wanting to turn more and more. I just joined IAP today. Would love it if you have any thing tat will help me out!

I've been turning pens seriously for a couple months, and I'm astonished by the variety and cost of everything we use! Lol

If anyone has Nd blanks they'd want to part with I'd give them a good home. Ivebeen making slimlines and giving them to Vets but I'd love some nicer woods for a few cigar pens. I don't sell them, mainly give them as gifts.

Dave

I too have recieved my box of blanks.Gleefully swore through every layer as I unboxed them.Thank you Mark for your generosity. The quality and quantity far exceeded what I was expecting.

Best wishes, Dale

I have just begun and if there is enough I would appreciate a few. I haven't done enough to give any away. But would be greatful to have some of these to learn on. I promise to eventually to pay it forward.

I am a new turner and new to pen turning.
I have a very limited budget I am 39 and on disability.
I have a brain tumor bad back and love to make pens.
I try to make 1 or 2 pens every day if I feel ok.
so if there are any left I would love some but if not thats fine.
Thanks for the opportunity
