i will always sell the virtues of wood turning as therapy. you all know what i mean. things have been pretty rough around the house lately and when i went out to the shop last night to clear my head "for a bit" the lathe turned, the wood chips flew and i was transported to another time and place. the problems disappeared, even if only for a little while. when i was finally done i thought i would go inside and grab a beer and a snack. thats when i realized i had been turning for nearly 2 1/2 hours, and it was almost 10:30. a little late for a beer and snack. and today i am feeling much better.
thank you for giving me a place to talk about this stuff with people that actually understand.

(oh, and i'll try and post a picture tonight.)

Yes indeed, I live with chronic pain every day
and I can honestly say, my time in the shop, which averages
about 2 - 3 hours a day, certainly DOE'S take your
mind else where.........greatfull for the journey

The opposite for me. If I go into the wood shop in a bad state of mind, I destroy something important. I can't even properly sharpen a tool. I envy people who can do this to relax.

as promised this is the results of my night in the shop. i realize they should probably go in a different area but as you know the point of the post was not really to show a project but to share something else.
