Hi Everyone
It's been awhile , but I'm back on the net !!!!
As some of you know I fell on some hard times when the place that I worked for over 17 years closed . After being unemployed for 18 months I had dug myself a hole that I'm still climbing out of , I had sold off everything of value I had left and was at 1 month from homelessness when I got a job with a large appliance/electronics company . It's taken some time but I now have a working computer and net access , and I will be getting a new lathe in a month or so .
Thanks for the PM's and I will be answering them as the time allows . I'm very busy working 6 days a week right now trying to catch back up . I will be checking in from time to time until my busy time slows down .
Once I get a lathe I will be building a few concept pens I have been dreaming about . I looked around a little and I see all the awesome kitless work being done , its great to see people thinking outside the box and in some cases throwing away the box altogether .... keep it up guys !!!!

Damn Butch! It's GREAT to see you back!!!!!

I hit the hard times at almost the same time as you, I rolled the dice, (spent a lot of money I DIDN'T have) and started as a full time pen maker. MOST OF WHAT I HAVE MADE IN THE PEN BUSINESS, has been due to discussions with you!

As luck would have it, I am in the middle of a MAJOR shop cleaning and renovation. I have many 2's and 3's of things that I rarely use and are too valuable to thow away. PM me a list of "stuff" you could use to revive the shop. If I've got it, it's yours! My wife will even spring for the postage, just to get the shop clean.

I'VE MISSED YOU, and I have 10,000 questions!
 
Glad to see your still kicken Butch. Even if you cant make a pen stop in and chat once in a while. You have been missed.
 
Butch, I'm sorry about the hard times bud. I'm one who is glad to see you're back too. I have some pens to show you :biggrin: And, when you get your lathe, I'll be anxious to see your prototypes.
 
Butch, So far this has been a great start to 2012 first Skip now you. Take care of the important things and drop in from time to time we'll be here.
 
Welcome back, Butch. It's especially nice that you were able to get back in time for the Bash. Maybe somebody local can lend you some lathe time and you can enter a pen this year instead of running all the penmaking contests!

Glad your back and things are looking better. Can't wait to see those dream pens you've got floating around in your head. If you need some blanks I'm sure I've probably got a few extras floating around the shop.
 
I'm sorry to hear of your troubles, Butch, but glad to know that you are pulling away from them.

I likely don't have much to help you get back into the swing of things, but if you are looking for anything specific in the way of pen blank material, let me know. I've some cebloplast and random odd stuff that I could send your way.
