No longer confused....
I just finished 3 rolls of 25 yard spools. This is the cardboard tubes. Looking for ideas for what to do with them other than A) trash can and B) give it to our dog who loves to eat cardboard.

Casting cylinders comes to mind.
These also make good stands when spraying platters/bowls, etc.

Decades ago in a cabinet shop not too many miles away, we would take heavy cardboard tubes, cut a 1/2" plywood disc and glue/staple in the bottom, make a lid and have a container to hold screws and stuff.
When I am able, I can take a pic of one I made back then. My first cylindrical lidded box!

I cut them to about 33 inches and ship pool cues in them .

As a kid we used them as swords to hit each other with .

If the tubes are longer the right sized ball and compressed air and make a air cannon .

Give them to a local kinder garden/preschool for the kids to make stuff for mum and dad. Down under they love donations like that. If you wanted to, you could supply plywood discs so that the kids can decorate a pencil/pen holder.
