I was in a conversation the other day with someone about how fast responses are on Facebook vs IAP. I believe both have their benefits. If someone posts in one of the 4 groups on FB (that ironically have about all the same members), they get a much shorter and to the point answer. Where as on IAP there is a detailed answer.

I think because most of us have smart phones and get on FB on them all the time vs not getting on here on our phone as much.

How many use forum runner to access IAP on their phone? Jeff would promoting forum runner help?

I use forum runner. I find it quick and easy for tracking conversations I've participated in. If im planning on writing a post or doing lots of replies id use my laptop though.

I prefer the structure of a forum over facebook any day.

I rarely use FB. And even though I've used forum runner, I still prefer the regular site on my phone. But like Brad, most of my responses are from my laptop.

I hate typing on my phone. If I am going to give small, to the point answers, I'll use my phone. But like Brad said, I'd prefer to type out my answers on a physical keyboard, where I can use all my fingers as opposed to using two on a phone.

BTW, I think this would make an interesting poll question.

I use Forum runner when I'm actively participating in forums on IAP. However I've been absent a lot lately as I've been going through many changes in my life and there's not been the time for it as in the past. I do prefer the website from my computer over FR whenever possible though.

I do us Facebook a lot as well, but it's not suitable as a discussion forum IMHO.

I like the searchability and organization structure of a forum, most notably, this forum. However, since I don't use, and am not familiar with ForumRunner, I have a dedicated tab on my Safari browser for IAP. The advantage of Facebook is how quickly you're notified of a response. If I'm on my computer, a little deal pops up saying someone has commented on my post. I can set notifications to do the same on my phone. With the forum, I can subscribe to an email notification. But email notifications take time, and aren't necessarily a convenience with all of the other emails we receive on a daily basis. The lack of an organized search function on Facebook yields THOUSANDS of posts on the SAME question, and as said above, many folks are members of the same group. Many people seem to feel compelled to cross post in ALL of the groups (nothing like 7 notifications that Onur has posted Walnut for sale, or 5 notifications that Mr. Neff made his first turning of the day; not bashing, just examples).

As stated above, this would make a great poll. Also, it would be worthwhile to hear some advantages of ForumRunner. I may start a separate thread for just that.

To me FB is nothing but a sellers avenue to sell blanks. Every one of those pen sites someone is selling blanks. There can not be enough pen kits in the world to accommodate all the blanks being sold. Someone mixes a color of paints and it is a blank they sell. Add a label on a tube and it is a blank they sell. Here on IAP those sellers have their own section and are not mixed in with pen talk. That is the difference to me.
