Maytag wins:frown:. Dee must have decided that her I Phone needed cleaning
She forgot to check her pockets and washed it, today we need to get a new phone. We tried drying it in a bag of rice, blowing compressed air into the headphone hole, left out on top of the dash in the sun all day, no help:mad:

It takes several days for it to dry thoroughly enough to work. And did you bake the rice to dry it out first?
Anyways, even if you do get it working, it will probably fail in a month or two due to corrosion.

Yes we baked the rice, the rice was cooked and so is the phone:biggrin:

iPhone 5 is coming out Real Soon Now® according to rumors. If you can wait. Personally, I don't like getting new models, much preferring the later upgrade. For example, the iPhone 4 had problems that were all fixed on the 4S.

Now see Roy if she had a Roper then you still would have had a broke phone but it still would have been dirty too.

We are getting close to needing to upgrade the phones and I am seriously thinking of switching to Iphones. We have never washed our phones so we should be safe.

Roy I just read the press release on the new IPhone 5. I could not find anywhere in the features where this one is washing machine proof. Sorry Pal. Christmas is coming up have you considered a wash board for Dee?:biggrin::eek:

big problem is when it happens you are supposed to pull the battery so that its totally off. Can't do that on Iphones.

I'll keep my Galaxy.

My I-Phone recently had a coffee overdose, coffee pot over flowed. I tried the rice trick with no luck and took it to a local independent I-Phone repair place that had it up and running in a day for about $60. This included a new board. Works great and saved me some serious coin since I still have a year to go on my contract.

Roy , I think Steve is right and Mike is on the right track but if you gave Dee a washboard for christmas you would be wearing it soon after either externally as a hat or internally as a ....... errrr ......... ? anyway I think it might be safer to take away the Maytag and introduce her to the rocks down at the stream . Stay well back when shes doing laundry though or you could end up in the next load .:beat-up::biggrin:

Been there...
Pedometer vs Maytag = Maytag (x2 - I'm too old to learn apparently)
Blackberry vs 44oz Dr Pepper (@ 11pm driving in a strange town) = Blackberry!! (for more than a year!)
HTC Android vs 32oz Dr Pepper = Dr Pepper

If your cell insurance does not cover dunking take it out and run it over. Tell the folks at the cell store you dropped it in the rain and a car ran it over. It explains the water and the shattered screen.

If only I bought the insurance:redface::frown:

I'm STILL wondering if that washboard entered from the Northbound or Southbound in ramp! If I had that piece of information, I might could offer some advice as to "push" or "pull", as I have also been is similar situations:biggrin::biggrin::biggrin:.

FWIW: On that whole "washboard" thing, I suspect a new washboard is no better of a Valentine's gift than a new iron or even a vacuum cleaner. DAMHIKT:biggrin:
