I couldn't figure out where my question on a pen display case would fit, so I hope no one minds me placing it here.

I need a pen display case in rosewood or other dark wood that will hold two Triton pens. I generally use the case from PSI that has the replaceable inserts (PKBOXMPR). The double pen insert for this case is for smaller pens and won't work, and of course the single pen insert won't do. Does anyone know of a source for a case that will hold two Tritons and still close?

Just another bit of criteria I need to add, the case cannot have a window as the person I'm making the pens for wants to add an engraved brass plate on the lid. And I need it for Christmas, of course.

Sometimes the term display case can be mistaken. This is the case I use for my higher end pens and is from Timberbits. It will fit any size pen or two. He has 3 different linings, black, white, tan

Thanks John. Very impressive looking case and close to what I'm looking for, only in a little darker wood. I checked out the Timberbits.com website, and didn't see that type case listed, so maybe they aren't in stock at this time. In any case, I doubt that I could get it in time for Christmas delivery. I will go back and check on them later, as I would like to buy some for myself.

I did find one other option at PSI and that is their box for 3-pc set (PKBOXL3). I had one here to test fit the Tritons in and they fit the two outer places for pens, but the lid doesn't close unless you turn the clips to the side. Not what I like to do, but maybe the liner in the lid can be thinned down some to overcome this. As for the letter opener slot, I could make a piece to fit that would be the same wood as the pens. The other option is to include a letter opener, but it won't match the pen design well, if at all.

Right on the front page. http://timberbits.com/pen-kits/cases-display-stands-multiplepencase-c-3_62.html

He does a quick turnaround and I bet you have before Christmas. Maybe a little pricey but I can vouch they are great looking boxes. That is my 2¢

You can try Ken at kallenshaan woods I just got a Real nice Rose wood box from him for my Artist pencil and he made the insert for the box that will hold the Pencil, extra lead, colored lead and a pen insert and engraved it for me also.

John,
How's the shipping from Australia?

Very reasonable He offers $12 flat rate shipping. At least when I got these. He handles all the paper work. The biggest thing now is getting through customs with all the Christmas packages.

The PSI rosewood box with the glass insert works well. They are cheap +\- $10 in bulk, it is real glass that can easily be etched and to make it a"twofer" box, you only need to split the insert with an exacto knife and put two inserts together with Elmer's or Borden's spray adhesive.

I ruled this type box out because of the glass. I didn't think about etching the glass versus adding an engraved plate atop the lid. It must be the weather freezing my brain cells. That would have been doable, and wouldn't have been as complex as routing out an area to inlay the brass plate in, but I've already sent the 3 pc box to a CNC shop. I shouldn't have taken this project on at such short notice. I have to be in Kansas all this week and Alabama next week. That means I have to pull this all together this coming weekend. He also wanted the pens to be a Triton FB and a RB in BOW. I didn't have the wood or the FP, so had to order them last night from EB. Hope it all comes together, but I have my doubts.
