heading to the wood shop by my wife. now I don't get to have shop time. I have to interact with my inlaws.

Got to work on being more sneaky.

Dude - invite the inlaws (or your favorite inlaw) out to watch. That way you get to do what you want and mostly ignore whoever is watching you - while chatting a little here and there. :D

If it's cold enough, invite them ALL out to watch!!

They will tell you you're nuts :eek::eek:and you're off the hook---you TRIED to be sociable!!!:mad:

(Unfortunately, keep in mind your wife gets half the lathe in a divorce:rolleyes::rolleyes:)

I plan on telling the wife I have to go to the garage for some tools - then "accidently" get distracted by a "quick" pen turning... I think it might work.... if not I will send pics from the hospital....

Well, sorry for you as i'm in the same spot kind of. If i try to get in the shop with my girlfriend here she will certainly know it because i have to build a fire then the smoke will be a dead give away. Man, we're woodworking junkies aren't we, but thats a good thing. I didn't get finished up until 10:30 lastnight. Merry Christmas to all here at IAP !!!!!!

Not in this one case where I bought my new lathe from. The wife threw him out divorced him then put all the tools for sale on craiglist. I got a Jet 1014 with Nova chuck and all the wood the guy had including a Dremel 16" scrollsaw and ryobi 10" drillpress for $220 all in like new condition.I ask the lady what happen your hubby died and she went off on me telling me to hurry up and take everything.I said Ok.She went on to said in a still P*** off tone of voice I THREW HIM OUT AND DIVORCED HIM. So if I was you I'll be careful with what you said and do.You are not going to even get half the lathe. :)
