i finally figured it out.

so tonight i figured out the secret of pen happiness.

i LOVE making pens. i HATE selling them. i hate asking people for money. i do it at work and hate it there too. i just love the idea of making pens and being able to give them away. so tonight i sold a pen, then turned and handed my wife the money. i was happy, the customer (my aunt) was happy, and my wife was happy. and it might even land me some extra workshop time. win, win, win.

Glad you found a system that works for everybody. If you are serious about liking to make them but not selling them, look into the pens for troops or for cancer patient programs (If you haven't already). You will get a very good feeling from that also.
