MIke Roux and I have often wondered the same thing. We have someone who keeps listing a used benchtop mill for more than you can buy one new. It may be he hasnt done any research on the current value or it has come down in price since he bought his. They only need to find one fool.
 
I am of the belief that there are some people who just don't visit this planet on a regular basis...

Hmmmm

Awhile back I sold a saw for more than I paid for it new....but I sold it with
2 forrest blades both of which cost as much as the saw. (note I got the blades free when a friend passed away and his spouse gave them to me for cleaning out his tool shed/workshop) And now I have a table saw and a mitre saw and I have about a dozen Freud blades (some never used yet) that range from $35 to $89 new and in total cost more than either saw. It doesn't mention in the add how many and what kind of blades might go with it.

I do notice Mike, that he also says obo...which is sort of like saying you decide what it's worth. That I can understand.
 
Because everything has to be shipped in this kind of moronic behavior is close to the norm in Alaska. Folks want top dollar for any hunk of junk they have. I'd hate to say it but I could have gotten 2 snogos in the same condition for the price I payed for mine in the lower 48........and it took 4 months of searching to find it!

On the other hand you'll find folk that will give ya stuff too, IF your in need! I got a shotgun and my first lathe because freinds found out I was broke but needed them. Another traded a truck for work on there house.

PS I passed on the old Rockwell to a co worker of my wife's......he just moved here has wanted to turn since he was a youth and he was flat broke......got tired of him hangin around the shop watchin me work!
