I want to do a little slide show from within the ipad, which I already have set up. My problem is that I would like to add some captions to some of the photos but of course all I have is the camera software that came with the ipad.

I can download photos to my pc for editing but it's a one way street via the USB port so I can't upload photos back to the ipad.

So..... is anyone aware of an ipad app that can add captions to a photo in the photo albums?

If you can't find a better way, how about this:

If you have the right type card reader on your pc, write the captioned pictures back to the camera card from the PC then download them back to the ipad from the camera.

I don't have an ipad, just extrapolating from some of the gyrations I've gone through with my wife's ipod.

Go to Dropbox.com and make a free account if you use this link ( http://db.tt/TcUqQlZS) you will get 500 free megabytes of space. Then download and install the Dropbox app on your Ipad then install on your computer and sign in and then all your pictures will be synced to your computer.

George... Open the app store, put in either photo text or photo caption into the search. There is dozens that will let you do that right on the iPad, many of them free.

I found an app called "Photo name+" which does what I want so I'm content.

One thing I am learning, well actually just reminding myself of an old saying..... "There is no free lunch". Seems like every FREE app I install comes with annoying ads and pop up reminders to upgrade so I'm learning to just skip the free versions and pay a few dollars for a hassle free experience.

Thanks for the suggestions.

George, let me also recommend Dropbox. I don't have an I-anything but I use this with my android's and pc's.
I have dropbox at work and on my home computer. Whatever is placed in the dropbox folder is available on every device that you have dropbox on.
You can also choose to share a folder with selected people.
For instance, my daughter has dropbox and shares a folder with me of photo's of my most grand - daughter. I can look at her cherubic face on my tablet, phone, work pc and home pc. If I go to a friends, I could log into my online dropbox account and demonstrate her wonderful-ness to him.
This type of file sharing/storage is the future.

Edit: Oh and this is a truly free app. The free version gives you x amount of space. Paid versions will give you substantially more. If you recommend it to friends and they sign up, they and you get more space. You can get up to 16 GB free. That's a lot of photo's and documents...

No doubt the free ones are ad supported and its worth it to buy the apps you like ... I do prefer when they have a free version too though. I usually d/l 2 or 3 free versions, see which one I like - then buy the paid version of the one I like.

Can't you just email or text the photos back to the ipad?
I haven't tried that, probably could but I'm editing dozens and dozens of photos at a time and looking for the quickest way to get the job done. These are large detailed photos (2592 x 1936) and I think perhaps even two at a time might overload my email size restrictions.

Anyway, what's working well right now is to download the originals from the ipad, modify them then get them back to Dropbox where they appear back in the ipad.

WHILE WE'RE AT IT.............. I am putting images of my pens into various other albums to organize things, but every time I copy an image, the original stays in the "camera roll" and there are quite a few duplicates. When I select an image in the camera roll and try to delete it after copying it to another album I get a pop up window saying... "This photo is used in an album. Do you want to delete it everywhere? With a red box saying "Delete Everywhere" as if that's the only choice.

Is there a way to delete photos from the ipad's "CAMERA ROLL" without deleting them from the individual folders I put them into?
