Last year a friend gave me some cactus that was found on a beach in Milford Ct, I accidently left it sitting in a plastic bag with some newspaper over the winter and most of the spring, about a month ago I found it again and threw it in a plastic container with some cactus soil from HD. I again forgot about it and just went to throw it away today while cleaning and found all sorts of little things going on with it. Who said cactus doesn't grow wild in CT.? One last thing, this SOB has almost invisible little prickers that get into your skin and are hell to get out again.

Those little prickers are a son-of a gun....my first experience with them is when i went to myrtle beach, i found house with the catuas outside, stoped and asked the lady if i could take some to staart for myself.......she said ok, i went out and just GRABBED the catuas with my bare and and my wife was pulling those little buggers out for months, you can not see them, but boy, they really hurt

I have some cactus that looks like that growing on the sunny side of the house in plain old dirt. I found a piece in the street while jogging, came back later and picked it up with gloves. Gets beautiful yellow flowers that slowly close when you touch the center...kind of neat.
