Dont remember on what website i saw it but there are a couple of small table saws that were cheap. Ill look and see if i can find the links.

you could certainly use a very good hand miter box (I use the swedish one) ..a lot less expensive than a motored saw..I've cut segmented bowl pieces for over 25 yrs on a miterbox..I'll bet cutting pen blanks would be a breeze

I have one I wish I'd given away last year, same problem you'll have with that saw it's too light in weight, But it will work well removing un-necessary fingers and or other nearby appendages.

Man, I wish people gave stuff around here away! lol. I live in Antioch Ca. A guy at work let me "store" his Delta table top saw so I have been messing with that a little. I need to pick up a band saw at some point. And a scroll saw, and a sander, and a ............ Man, there is to much stuff.

Why don't you look on Craigslist. There are some nice bandsaws and table saws on there all the time. I was looking this morning and there are some right now is Pittsburg and Brentwood, which are close to you. Look in listing for the San Francisco Bay Area. I have bought tools off of Craigslist and gotten some good deals on really nice tools. I live in San Francisco, which is close to you. There are a number of us penturners in the Bay Area and other parts of Central and Norther CA and Nevada. Check out the Group Chapters. We are having a meeting on June 7th in Oakdale.

I use a 8" compound miter saw. Sears now has a Craftsman 7 1/4" that does'nt take up much space. Works great on wood blanks, but I still use the old miter box and saw for acrylics.

i check craigslist often. There are some saws on there but nothing I want, or can afford. To many things to buy now. I will be there on the 7th, looking forward to it. We have a miter saw at work, and with some good jigs, would do the trick. I just need one of everything and I should be good.
