I sprayed 3 coats yesterday and need to know how long to let it cure before I micro mesh it. I had let a test piece sit for 24 hours. When I went to shine it up it seemed to gum up just a little bit. It turned out pretty good but I think I can do better if I let it cure longer. How long should I let it sit?

ensure that you are using LIGHT coats of lacquer. One thing to remember is that lacquer doesn't like heat AT ALL, so be carefull how fast you turn when you mm it. You should let it sit 72 hours before sanding. This of course depends on humidity/temperature, etc... This time of year, 72 hours should be fine.

This is how I do it.

After my 3 coats I let it dry overnight and MM the next day and do not have any problems. I spray my final coats and let it dry for a week.
