For my daughter's 6th birthday in January, my mom gave us a trip to Atlantis in the Bahamas! We left EARLY Sunday morning and flew from Austin, TX to Atlanta, then on to Nassau, Bahamas to begin our adventure. I turned off the cell phone when we left Atlanta and did not turn it back on until we got back. I also did not get on the internet the entire time! I spent the week focusing on my wife and daughter and we got to spend a LOT of really good quality time together, enjoying each others company. This was our first vacation in a number of years and my daughter's first time on an airplane and her first trip out of the country. We had a WONDERFUL time and am very thankful for a generous mom!

I thought I would share some pictures with my IAP "family"!

OK, what a camera ham you are. I'm very glad to see and read your report on a wonderful vacation.

NEXT TIME YOU GO TAKE US WITH YOU FOR REAL. I'll do my part to train and certify you all as PADI Open Water SCUBA Divers ... for free.

Lucky you!

What a great trip! I've been wanting to trailer the boat down to West Palm and then go over to the islands by water. My friends in Florida that boat said the boat trip has gotten extremely dangerous, even following the Coast Guard Cutter.

I think I like your idea much better! Just fly over and enjoy the whole week poolside.
What a great trip.

Great Pictures and what a nice familly. That place looks like a place to spend some time when my wife retires. I'm thinking of the bridge spot, well maybe not.

Curtis: Was this arch where you stayed? AND Just so everyone knows what kind of person Curtis really is, I was on the my way from Indy to Austin and called ahead to arrange a time to stop by
and visit. He said NO and wouldn't even stay home!! What a jerk! LOL!!!!! Glad y'all had a good time. You deserved it!

That is fantastic. I am sooooooo happy to see a family have a really good time together. You look like the world was lifted from your shoulders.

Curtis, Glad you had a great time. My Wife and I went there some years ago and had a blast. We sat in the lazy river a lot and just floated around:biggrin:. Do they still have the huge Manta Rays in the aquairums?

Yep, the huge manta rays are still there! They added a much better river ride called "The Current" on past the Mayan Tower slides. It is a lot of fun and where we spent most of our time.

Here are a few pics of one of the manta rays for those interested.
