ok. made it out, the shop was nice and toasty and dry, this is once again an idea thats been bouncing around in this head of mine. must be a lot of room up there. so here it is. really really needed some de-stress time tonight.

this started as your standard xacto knife. the plan was to drill straight through the blank and add the end cap, unfortunately i only got the knife half way through and the glue set up on me, so i mounted it and parted off the waste part and segmented another piece, the ebony end cap was on purpose, that part turned out great, the front portion is cocobolo. the secret to this if anyone decides to try it is to leave a good portion of the metal out to mount in the lathe chuck.

it was fun, and i feel so much better now.

i realize that there are parts of this that could be prettier but this was designed to be for shop use and love the results, i may buy some new knives providing i can still get the metal ones and make some more,
