I hope this is OK to post, if not Im sorry and Please delete the post.
Living out in the country we sometimes come across a poor animal that has been left in a cloud of dust as the SOB owners drive-off and leave the animals to fend for themselves.
Now thats bad, but the guy across the street was working for the landowner doing odd jobs around the place getting it ready to sell. The hired help sometimes had huge partys, loud music, motorcycles, mud races, bon-fires, and beer cans all over the place(I had some spill over of empty beer cans onto my place). Other than the beer cans, the partys really didnt bother me, we are at least 20 acres away. Then it got quite.
I thought nothing of it because their dogs were still there (The dogs would come over every once in a while and I would shoo them away).
After a while I couldnt get ride of them. Turns out the owner kicked the workers out for throwing the wild partys and BBQ-ing one of his calfs.
The dannged workers left and didnt take their dogs. Made me feel like a SOB for trying to make them go home when their home up and left, so I kinda took in the male, dont know where the female went to. She was always a bit more skiddish. Then she slowly showed up just to eat the food id leave out for her,(if I could feed the male enough to leave her some). She finally comes around now WITH HER PUPPIES and plays with the kids. We counted 5 pups. Three are still here, one found a home with a friend and 1 is awol.
They are mild tempered and very docile. I took 2 to the grocery store parking lot to try to find them homes but I was run off. I can lure them with food but we still cant get close to the dark brindled one. The larger one walks with a limp and cannot use his back leg. he has been like that for a while. The mother(orange brindle) is very sweet and the puppies are a handful.
Any Ideas?? I need to find them homes.
