I made this pen a while back but just now got around to taking some pics. This is a Blk TN/Platinum Sierra with Spanish Oak Burl that I stabilized and dyed myself. I used a blue dye with Permabond 90c to stabilize the blank and I think it turned out incredible! Comments welcome.

And yes, the colors are accurate for each side. One side is certainly different than the other. I think that is becasue part of the blank was real punky and it probably allowed the stabilizing resin to penetrate better, thus making the dye more intense.

Thanks guys. This is one of my favorites for sure. The neat thing is that the wood came from my in-laws ranch in Luckenbach, TX. You know, with Willie and Waylon and the Boys!
 
I like that Curtis,

I have some polyana burl I got. Very interesting stuff, it reminded me of crushed straw in some areas. Soaked up CA like an Irishman drinking Guinness.
