Which pulley are you trying to pull? I've pulled the pulleys on my Jet1442 a number of times... the motor pulley has 2 set screws on the motor side of the inside pulley... the outside pulley has a keeper ring and spring on it... after the keeper ring is pulled and the spring removed, you still have the keyway to slide over.... if as in my case the first time, the pulley has a boogered up slot for the keyway, it takes a little wiggle to set it back in the slot... sometimes a good lubricant spray will help it slide.

On the spindle, there's also a keep ring that has to come off, then I have to tap the spindle through the pulleys towards the tailstock... sometimes you just need a bigger hammer for that one, but being careful not to mar the end of the spindle shaft... you have the same problem with the keyway on the spindle shaft.... again a lubricant spray may help.

Give me a lever long enough, and fulcrum on which to anchor it, and I can move...a stuck pulley! :)

It was tough, but it went!

The only issue is that I lost the little metal key on the spindle - been on my hands and knees for a long time looking - where on earth am I going to find a 4x4x85mm key? (No metal or tool shops around here)...anyone know an online source that doesn't charge a fortune for shipping?

You might find one at a big box store...if they don't have one in the hardware dept., look at the metal rack and see if they have one close in size.... if it's too long you can cut them off, but if it's too short... new set of problems.

If the bearing is pressed on, you're going to need some way to press it off... I'd be leery of heat too, and not sure about the freezer, may depend on how the bearing is mounted...is the cast iron part inside the bearing... freezer might allow enough shrinkage of the casting... not much knowledge on my part in metallurgy so probably no help from me.
