HMTL annoyance

When I come here or go to my store admininstration to edit with internet explorer I see everything in WYSIWYG when I come here or go to my store to edit with Google Chrome I see tags. I'm sure if I take the time and go digging I can change Chrome to WYSIWYG but maybe someone can make easier for me by telling me.

I refuse to use IE for a variety of reasons. Chrome, Firefox, Safari, LastPass ( on iPad) all work well. Looks good on iPhone as well. Have you looked at your Chrome configuration settings and preferences? Something could be set improperly.

I've used Firefox and wasn't impressed. All I want is when there is a color such as dark red in your post I'd like to see it dark red in my reply rather than all the tags surrounding it.

I get WYSIWYG data entry when I come here with IE..tags when I come with Chrome.

There's a button at the top right of the gray area where you type your messages, it's like two different 'A's on a square. It's to the right of the "toolbar" and (in "advanced" mode) above the "smilies". Click that to toggle between WYSIWYG and tag modes.

I'm not sure why it depends on the browser. Maybe it's a setting that gets saved in a cookie, so each browser has its own settings saved?

That only seems to be there when I come in with IE. I'm in with Chrome now and it isn't there. I don't see anything in chrome that will let me change things.

Let's see... it could be Javascript. I just tried disabling Javascript (I'm on Firefox) and it gave me the tags instead of WYSIWYG, and I can't switch WYSIWYG on. (The A/A is still on the screen, but it doesn't look like a button and I can't press it.)

I don't have Chrome so I don't know how to turn Javascript on/off, but I did find this info on-line, it may help you:

to turn javascript off and on got to the tool tab at the top
Click on "Options"
Go to "Under The Hood"
Click on "Content Settings"
Click on the "JavaScript" tab

Javascript is not Java (the name is confusing though).
