Hiring my daughter

I am actually thinking about hiring my 6 year old daughter to clean the shop. I think a buck is well worth it. What do you all think?

If she is willing that sounds good to me. Nothing wrong with that. I mean she can get into places you might have a hard time getting to. :cool:
 
It is a great idea, I have had my 6 year old daughter helping me clean for a year now. She wants to help more often in the summer because her pay is Ice Cream cones.

My 9 year old and 6 year old help out around the boat yard, cutting weeds and such. At least until it hits a hundred then I deem it unsafe for them.
 
Hey, I was the inventor of the "original 18 year old self propelled lawn mower"(TM). It (he) worked for food... go 4 it.

They start the summer with a wish list of things they want to buy with their earnings. I pay when the job is done. Usually by then they have forgotten what they were going to buy. Both of them have banked their earnings from the past two summers. I love my kids, but I don't think they are really mine. I don't know how to save anything.
 
I think the memories you are making has untold value. A buck, 10 bucks, tomorrow that will be of no care, the times will have untold value. My advice, hire her at any cost just keep her safe from harm. This you will not regret. Robbie
 
My son used to help me in my shop, cleaning and actually helping make a few things. he did this until he was about 13 or 14, and those were the best times we had.
 
I tried that with my grand daughters but they wanted payment in supplies. It cost me more than cash. Besides when they left they left a mess I had to clean up so what's the point? :biggrin:
 
My three year old son loves to in the shop with me, waiting to clean up "my mess". He just loves that shop vac. He even does a fair job with a broom as well.
 
you lot don't know just how lucky you are to have some little helpers because I have a 26 y/o son and all he does is makes a mess in my shop and there ain't no way he's cleaning up.

She has something she puts her money in. My wife might give her a quarter for emptying the trash baskets, or this or that. My brother and his wife might give her a dollar for helping at their house, or my grand mother. She got birthday money, ect. She refuses to spend any of her money on anything (which is a good thing), and she has 60 bucks in that thing.

I wonder if she would buy a couple pen kits!
