George, I always look forward to seeing your work. It's consistently so inspiring! I'm glad that beautiful piece of wood had the good sense to choose someone whose skills were up to the task of revealing its inner charm. Russ
 
Thanks for the series of pics...Your work is so fine, that it seems like it must be illegal in some way! Beautiful work and also inspiring. I am collecting suitable pieces to attempt my own work in the same realm, knowing, of course, that it will not be at a comparable level, at least not for a long,long time.

Southernclay: the finish that you can see in the workshop pics is lemon oil, this is a temporary finish which stops me marking the wood with fingerprints etc whilst I finish the base of.
The final finish is a type of wipe on poly called woodoc 10
