In a couple of threads it was mentioned that some of us could see images in some of the blanks. This brought to mind something I learned at the Cooper School of Art I briefly attended many years ago.
The next time you pick up a magazine and see a picture of a glass of ice and "whatever" beverage, take a closer look. Some of them are not actually photographs of what you think it is but hand drawn/air brushed pictures. If you look closely you'll see mostly images of faces and some figures. If you find one, the more you look, the more you'll see. I actually saw an entire street scene in one once. It was small but it was there. To give you some kind of idea of what I'm talking about remember the album cover of Santana Abraxas? It had the face of a lion with several faces and figures drawn into it. I know I'm probably dating myself but they were IT, in their time! If you don't know or are too young to remember Google it
Anyway, it's a little known fact that some artist deliberately draw these and include some pretty bizarre images in them. It used to be a really big thing in the 70's. Now, not all of the pictures you see will be this way but there are still some out there today doing this. Once you do find one you'll know exactly what I'm talking about and it should become apparent that it is not a photo of the real thing. The biggest clue is the bubbles, they just don't look natural.
It's been a while since I've even looked for one or even seen a magazine with that type of ad so I'd like to know if anyone sees one.
So grab your magazine, find a picture, and see if it's real or not!
