Do you have pen kits to start with ? . I would suggest starting with the Sierra kit from ... www.BereaHardwoods.com ....
or similar .... such as Gatsby kit from ... www.PennStateInd.com ... or similar kit from ... www.Woodturningz.com ... (forget the name of kit)

The Sierra and Gatsby kits I mentioned are also available at ... www.ExoticBlanks.com ... and ... www.BearToothWoods.com ...
... both highly recommended as vendors of pen making supplies.

Welcome to the group Mark. Almost 3 years ago I was in the same situation. Then I found a free CD that Penn State (pennstateind.com) offers and I found how easy it actually was to turn a pen. I'd turned a lot of other items, but never a pen and it kind of threw me but if I can get it and figure it I'm pretty sure you won't have any troubles. Great forum to ask questions too, so don't hesitate to ask. Glad you here.
