Does anyone know if the blue vacuum pump will work instead of the red one? The price difference isn't that much $15.99 vs. $9.99 (on sale) but the savings could be eaten up quickly by having to change connectors if the red one is good to go out of the box.

Could this pump be used with a vacuum bag for veneering as well?

The only difference between the red one and the blue one is the fittings - i've cracked open both and they have the same venturi unit inside.
