I've seen a few people posting their filter mods for the larger 2HP dust collectors lately. I would like to put a filter on mine as all it has is the bag. But I got the cheaper 1HP model that is just a blower motor with a bag attached and sits on the floor. Does anyone have any experience with adding a wynn filter to this type of DC? I'm looking for ideas. I will probably add a pre-separator of some kind as well...
Any tips, trick and ideas are much appreciated!

The pre-seperator is fairly easy. You just need to duct the flow into a container to slow the flow down and allow the larger chips to fall out. It is also helpful to point the inlet at a wall or baffle so the large chips hit the wall and loose speed. Many people build these separators from a garbage pail. You can even buy a garbage pail lid with pipe fittings that will work.
I designed and built my own collector, so I added a two stage version of this separator concept into the filter.

The picture below is looking up into the inlet of my collector. The pipes shoot the air-flow at the baffle as the air enters the first separation chamber. The air flow and multi-stage filtering is shown in the sketch.
