That is the PSI dedicated pen blank chuck with an adapter to go from 3/4"x16tpi (lathe threads) to 1"x8 tpi (chuck threads). It works amazingly! I usually drill blanks for about five or six pens at a time (at the end of the night), then switch my lathe back to centers for the next day. I guess I could leave the drilling setup on the mini lathe full time...

This was my setup until I bought my Jet lathe. That's the HF mini vs lathe.

That is the exact same setup I have been using until I bought my Jet lathe
I still may use the mini lathe as a dedicated drilling lathe. I like the job it does better than my drill press. It seems like there is always something off on my drill press.

With that setup shown, by the time you put a drill bit in the drill chuck, how long of a blank can you drill with it?

Well, that's only a 14" lathe (distance between centers). I'll put my 13/32" bit in tonight and see if I can fit a blank for a Zen in the chuck with adequate room. I really don't remember off hand, and I'm being highly inconvenienced right now (dang job!).

I'd rather be turning
