Great work Colin. I am sure you enjoy creating these . I share your interest. I don't make many pens anymore . My interest is on creating different geometric designed segmented pen blanks, each one different , for the penmakers .I share a few photos of my recent work. Have you tried the reversed spiral design ? The wood at the top of the blank , 3rd from top is Australian Pine

Reply. I would love to here your method of getting the square in there.
The square is where the blank starts, slightly oversize. With the purple one, 2 x three segments were glued together, flush 1 end & then veneered. These 2 were glued to the square (oblong really) to form a V. The outside then sanded flush & veneered. Then, simply built up with alternating segments.
Be as neat and precise as possible, the boring of the blank for the tube is the hard part.
