Anyone on the IAP live there or near there?

This is where my wife and I are vacationing this year. I'd love to meet other pen turners, see your shop, and check out your pens.

I have used the same one since I joined. Found it several years ago and thought it just fit the situation.
 
Hendersonville is a beautiful place. Me and my wife took a vacation there last year and wanted to go there for our honeymoon this year but couldn't find the finances and the time off for it. Enjoy yourself, everywhere we went downtown was awesome and everyone was super friendly!
 
I live ~ 1.5 hrs south of Hendersonville. When are you planning on being up there? I might could make a trip up.
 
I'll be in Hendersonville from October 17th through the 23rd.

Bill, thank you for the pointers on woodworking places to visit in the area. That's gonna be fun!

Hewunch, I could always drop by your place on the way up to Hendersonville. We're coming up through Atlanta.
 
I could probably have some other folks around the place too (not to speak for anyone) problem is as a Pastor I work on Sunday's so unless you were coming in on Saturday that wouldn't work for me. Now, if you wanted to come by on the way home.... we could probably work something out.
 
Not sure what your route will be but if you're taking I20 from atlanta towards columbia I'm just off I20 about 8 miles in Wagener, SC. Not sure what our schedules will be like at that time but if possible feel free to stop by for a visit.
 
I live in H'ville but I cannot get to my shop right now as there is to much other stuff in the way.

In the process of building a storage shed so I can "Reclaim" my Garage.
 
OK people, if you don't want to show me your shop, that's fine! Show me your pens!

We should set up a time and place to meet up and compare work, shake hands, drink a beverage of some sort and get to know one another better.

One of you Hendersonvillites should pick a place we can meet between October 17 and October 22 and I'll show up!
 
We should pull into our rental cabin on Saturday afternoon. I'm bringing my pen collection if anyone wants to meet up and compare turnings!
 
Be sure to add a trip to Packard Woodworks in Tryon, NC to bulk up on your tool and supply collection. They carry only a limited supply of PSI pen kits, but otherwise offer a good supply of tools, lathes, accessories, and wood.
 
If you are willing to drive to Greenville,SC we can meet and i show you my shop next week. Any time between Tuesday and Friday will be great. Greenville is about 45 min to 1 hour south from Hendersonville. Send me a pm if you are interested.

I got here today. Saw a crafts fair on the way to the cabin and came back with the wife to have a look before they closed up. Got there with 15 minutes to spare.

Found a pen turner! He's not an IAP member though (too bad). This retired guy and his wife were selling a lot of $35~ $45 slim lines and Navigators. His work was good though—good fit and finish.

He'd be my friend if I lived here. I love hanging out with older guys.
