I just ordered my first wood lathe and I also ordered a Vicmarc 100 chuck. I wanted to know if I could use the 35mm Pin Jaws to hold a pen blank for drilling. I was hopping that I wouldn't have to buy another set of jaws just for blank drilling.

Thanks,

Danny

They should work fine....I use the pin jaws with my OneWay Talon Chuck for drilling blanks.
Note that with 4 jaws, if your blank is not square or round, the blank may not be completely secure in the jaws. A blank which is a tad rectangular will not be secure in pin jaws but would in "Pen Jaws" as they have two jaws to hold the blank captive.

You can always turn your blank round first and then mount in the pin jaws for drilling.

Thanks Charlie, they are on order now, we'll back order. I've been turning on a small metal lathe where I turn round between centers and then use a 3 jaw chuck to drill.
