Help with ideas on making a Star Trek Pen

My friend wants a pen that is Star Trek themed. He wants a lime green background. My thoughts were as follows: (and I would need advice on either one)

Turn a lime green blank down past the bushing, use clear adhesive printer paper with the logos/art work on them. Then cast over with Simlar 41.
Is that doable?

Or:

Use a lime green blank, turn and then apply the logos with the same adhesive paper. The use (CA?) what to coat after? Paper I am going to try is.

Think about a Star Trek watch parts pen!! I have done several if you watch you can pick one up on eBay for about $15 most will come with a certificate of authenticity

I already got one! But I ain't tearing that apart. Anyhoo, he is pretty specific about the logos. But that is a great idea!

Determine the pen kit, then have someone do the math, and create a custom label for you to apply and cast...

You might consider making a pen using US Postage Star Trek stamps. You can find several different options of them on Ebay. Just a thought...
