Help me find these !!!!

Ok...I need some help...I have spent hours on the web trying to find the following:

1) Turning spindles/blanks that are 4 x 4x 8 inches

2) Jacobs chuck JT3 replacement key

Any help/ advice would be appreciated .....thanks..Allan

Allan, JT3 is "Jacobs Taper #3," the mounting for the chuck. There's usually another number to ID the chuck itself and/or the key. If there's a place near you that sells drill chucks, it's worth taking the chuck in to find the one that fits it.

Usually our local mill has 4x4x8 cherry blocks. Sometimes oak, often hard and or soft maple.

Are you particular? And what do you want to spend?

Allan, check with your local forestry department. They will have a list of any saw mills in your area. One of them should have as much of 4 X 4 timber as you could want. The University extension service can provide the same info.
