Help identify this wood please

I had these blanks in my box of blanks for years. They were labeled "Unknown Australian Burl". I don't remember where I got them from.

Any idea what wood it is? The first (non-stabilized) blank I turned kept shattering. Now that I was able to stabilize them was able to turn one so far. It's very hard wood with lots of voids.

Don't hold me to it, but looks a lot like some Mallee I've had.

There are thousands of species of eucalyptus in Australia. Including Eucalyptus longicornis, aka Red Morrell !

George in Australia sent the Blind Center several big boxes of blanks...that looks like one of the gums (eucalyptus.) There were a LOT of gums! I still have the list of names of the woods he sent, but they are down at the center and it isn't open again yet. But George may be able to identify it.

Looks like some of the Camphor Burl I have. Did it smell like Root beer?
