I live in nuneaton warwickshire u.k married with two grown up children now retired. I was a motorbody repairer, and rebuilt old 1930's wooden body frames.
I have been woodworking for ten years since my retirement and made my first pen this year.I have been reading the forums for some time now and it is a great source of information thanks to all of you who have contributed all this useful information.
Brian.

Aloha!

When I was in college, I rented a room from a guy...anyway, he had a wood framed car in his garage. Always wonder what happened to it. He's still kicking...has to be 85 now...maybe I'll ask him someday.

Welcome Brian, Glad to have you here. Join in the fun.

Below are links to two threads/articles that have lots of information on pen turning. The first one is a very basic overview of the many aspects of getting into turning pens.
http://www.penturners.org/forum/showthread.php?t=42446

The second link has postings by different pen turners and what they wish they had known earlier:

Here is another link - a PDF on the acronyms used here. I am sure you know many but this will help with those you don't.
