I live in Lago Vista, on the shores of Lake Travis, NW of Austin,Tx.

I have been lurking here off and on for the past few months. I now have the bug to start turning some pens. Since one of my other past times involves shooting, I am primarily interested in rifle cartridge pens.

I have a Delta 12" lathe and a small Orca lathe(don't have much hope for it) that was given to me. I plan on ordering some more parts and use the Delta for pen turning.

So, if you did a tutorial on it, you might expect to get a few PM's from me. I have been going thru them and do have a few questions already. Right now, I am waiting for my order from PSI to arrive, in the next few days.

Welcome Ken, from far west Kentucky, to the addiction, sometimes referred to as the vortex. You mention that you have read some of the site, be sure to give the library a good bit of time. The link is at the top of the page. You will find an article called Library Index. This covers tutorials on about anything pen making you can think of. You will also notice that there are articles listed by year. Much good info there as well. When these fail to answer your questions, by all means post it here. I have never seen one go unanswered very long. Grab some wood, make some shavings and have fun all the while being safe. If you haven't yet thought about dust control, you will find many tutorials on that subject also.
