Hello everyone.

I have been working with wood for a while, but was always facinated by turned pens. When a deal came up a month ago on a Delta Midi Lathe I couldn't pass it up.
That was the end, I'm hooked. I have already turned about 30 pens, and even sold 3. Its great to actually make money doing something you love.

I actually live and work in two different cities. At my real home I have a full workshop but am only there on weekends. At my work home I have an apartment with a little 4'X4' pantry that I keep my lathe in.

I have been lurking here for a couple of weeks, and found lots of helpful information. Finally decided to join.

I am still working on the picture taking but here is one, I will post a couple of others in the "Show Off Your Pens"

Welcome. Below are links to two threads/articles that have lots of information on pen turning. The first one is a very basic overview of the many aspects of getting into turning pens.
http://www.penturners.org/forum/showthread.php?t=42446

The second link has postings by different pen turners and what they wish they had known earlier:

Here is another link - a PDF on the acronyms used here. I am sure you know many but this will help with those you don't.
