Greetings, everyone. I have been lurking here for a couple of months, and just started turning wood about three weeks ago. I wanted to share the fruits of the knowledge I gained from this site over the last few weeks. Thanks to everyone for unknowingly getting me into this hobby.

Reese, the local IAP meeting on June 10th will be held at the Atlanta WoodCraft store at 8560 Holcomb Bridge Rd., Suite 115
Alpharetta, GA 30022. It starts at 9:00 AM and is over at 2:00 PM.

There will be a demo on turning lidded boxes, and one on water slide decals.

I just recently moved here, but I believe they closed down a few years ago. I'm sad I never got to try it.

My girlfriend lived in Flowood while doing her final year of school at University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson. I really loved that area, but work brought us to Atlanta instead.

This was back in 2015. It seemed to be really growing at the time she was there.

Thanks for the kind words all. I've been doing various woodworking projects since I helped my dad with his projects as a little kid. I guess wood turning is just a new way of shaping the wood, the concepts of fitting and finishing will always be the same. Below is one I made this past weekend.
