Hello Everyone.

Thank you for letting Chewy and myself to be part of IAP. I know I will learn alot and hope to share my knowledge as well. I have been turning pens on and off for about 20 years. My background is a general machinist for about 15 years including 6 of them in the US NAVY 80-86 Machinist Mate, MM. I have been a full time Watchmaker since 1997 currently working for Watch Repair Station in Columbia SC, fully retiring by the end of this year. My Babygirl, Kathy Jenkins has already taken over the business. My hobbies are Woodworker, Jeweler, Fishing and traveling with my lovely wife Cyndi. I am thinking of opening a Pen Clip website selling custom/ready made pen clips and other interesting pen items for bespoke and kit pens. I would like to hear any opinions on that subject anyone has to offer. I am looking forward to making new friends on this next adventure in my life.

Thank you, John Gawronski

I am definitely interested in seeing your pen clips.

FYI, I am unable to view your attachments. I get the following error message,

Hello David and Thank you.
Sorry, I have not put up any pictures yet. I was asking for opinions on if they are needed in the pen making community. I am currently setting up my pen making shop in Columbia SC. I hopefully will have pictures and pricing up in August.
Thanks, John Gawronski

Welcome!

I'm also looking forward to seeing your offering when you start clip-making. I make some myself, but to be honest it isn't the part of making a pen that I most enjoy, so I'm always intersted in options.
Hello Duncan.
Thank you for your interest and we will keep everyone posted. They are coming soon! Thanks, John Gawronski

Welcome to the forum. I feel there would be a market for custom clips.
Used to stay on the far side of Columbia at Fort Jackson, Fall 1969. Trivia: A friend and I were waiting for the bus back to base. The stop was by an old Episcopal church. A small cemetery caught our attention. Graves for some of the original settlers going back to the early 1700s.

Hello Woodchipper.
Columbia SC has changed dramatically since you have been here, you would not recognize it today. I have been here since 2004 and it has changed so much! Thank you for your interest, it is appreciated.
Thanks, John Gawronski

Welcome John to IAP. Your experiences and pen clip designs can certainly fill a gap here. After overall pen types, I think the 2nd most requested item is the pen clip.

Thanks for joining in with us here.
