Hello-- I'm Dennis from Aviston, IL.
Just joined IAP. I have been working wood for about 10 years, mostly for myself and as gifts. Been talking to the wife about making Pens and I think I just drove her crazy with the idea. She finally told me to get a Lathe -- so I did.
I have been learning and turning about a month now. Got 9 pens under my belt. My first one has grooves in it, gave it to the wife. 2nd blew apart on the lathe, must of been two agressive. Anyway, finally got to the point where I feel good about selling them or giving them away.
Like I see a lot on this site, Pen Turning (Creating, Designing, Crafting...) is an addiction
I've almost thought of nothing else since I started.
I have learned a quite a bit from y'all and beleive I've even got the CA/BLO stuff down.
