On the way home from the clinic with spirit. She finally is at a point where the vet is comfortable sending her home. Her impaction has been breaking down and has almost passed through her system completely. She's still on major meds to prevent complications to her GI system and other areas. We still have to watch her all day and monitor her vitals but we all expect a healthy recovery. So thank you to eveyone for your prayers and support! Hell week is at it's end:smile:

WONDERFUL! CONGRATULATIONS! Been there, done that way too many times. Way too often without the good news you have. Our pets become family and tug at the heart strings like one of our own children. WE are very happy for you.

Jonathon;

That is great news. Your wife will be 'back in the saddle' in no time:cool:. Sorry, sometimes I just can't resist:laugh:. Now, to find a new job.

I have to admit Jonathan, when I read the title I didn't think it was going to be this good!

I am glad it is almost over and your wife's horse is going to be alright!! Good luck with the job hunting!

Don't go and sell all your stuff either! Only as a last resort! You need something to keep you busy. Besides, maybe you can make a little money selling blanks full time until you find another job!!

Hopefully the good news will keep flowing!!!

I want to personally thank everyone that sent out prayers or thought of us during this hard time. This mare was one my mother and I bred and hand raised and has been a fantastic show horse and long time companion for me. It was sad seeing her so ill but all the while she maintained her elegance and spirit. Guess we were right to name her Win'n'Spirit. She won our hearts the moment we met her and won this long fight with colic. Thank you all again for the kind words through all this. It really is helpful to know there's such a strong support base of friends out there that cares.

Great

I had horses get colic but never an experience like that. I did lose a couple of beef calves to colic though so I know what it can do to animals. I'm glad your horse is recovering.

Ok...this can't be happening. I just got off the phone with my dad and he informed me that my grandmother (his mom) has been diagnosed with lung cancer. Doctors told her it is operable and she's scheduled for surgery in 7-10 days. When it rains it pours! :beat-up: let's keep those prayers coming!

Jonathan, the prayer wheels just keep rolling. May God hold you and your family close to His breast to comfort all during this time of your lives. God bless you all.
