My week has been wonderful so far. Lost my job on Monday (wonderful mood setting for me and my wifes first Vday together as a married couple), my wifes horse (who she specially bred and has raised from birth) is under 24/7 vet watch for colic with an impaction since Tuesday and is not improving. So to top it all off when I went to feed the horses this morning I find one of my boss' geldings in the pasture with a broken leg (most likely from a kick) and had to be euthanized on the spot. He was only 4yrs old and had a wonderful personality even in his last moments. Wish I could just stay in bed tomorrow but I'm picking up my wife from work early to go see her horse at the clinic to see how she's doing. Needed to vent so thanks for allowing me to do so. Staying away from power tools tonight too, not taking any chances

Sorry to hear about your bad week Jon. Sometimes we all just need to vent.

Heres to it getting better...

Good idea staying away from power tools....

Hang in there buddy! The world can't keep a guy like you down!

Make yourself happy and go do some casting!

Take care and let us know if we can do anything for you.

Persevere my friend, persevere.

When the road you're trudging seems all uphill,
When the funds are low and the debts are high,
And you want to smile, but you have to sigh,
When care is pressing you down a bit,
Rest, if you must, but don't you quit.

Dang Jonathon, I wish I had read this prior to sending the PM. If there is anything you need just let us know. Hang in there and look at it as an opportunity. You and the wife get to spend a little more time together. And before you know it the new job will come calling and you'll think back and laugh.
Brian

Thanks everyone for helping lift my spirits. I did flub on one thing I said earlier...is an air compressor considered a power tool:rolleyes:? I took your advice Fred and cranked out some blanks and decided to toss some in the PP and we'll see what happens.

Brian, thanks and I just sent your reponse. A couple bright spots about my not working at the moment is that I can be by my wifes side through this.

Mark, I was working for Pepperidge Farm in one of their bread manufactoring plants doing a bit of everything.

Hey Jon I really feel for you. I just got back to work myself....and I am 59! A job will show up. As to the rest of the week, talk about a rough week. And I thought I had it bad before I went to work this week. Take Care Guy. I will add a prayer for you.

Thanks y'all. Still no improvement on spirit. My wife n I are actually at the vet clinic now helping watch over her. Keep those prayers coming. We need them.

Still at the clinic. Having some improvement though. Things might be looking up. Bad news is we got an estimate of the bill  with me just losing my job I think I need to put up most of my pen supplies to help manage. Our vet is very understanding and is going to let us set up a payment plan to help soften the hurtin on our wallets. Im gonna go through my personal stash of blanks n kits when I get home so y'all keep your eyes peeled.

ask the vet if there is an insurance that will cover the care as there are some pet insurances that will cover the cost and let you pray the premium over 12 months. My daughter did this with her cat.

just found this http://www.vetinsurance.com/

There are equine insurance policies which we'll be looking at buying if she pulls through all this. We talked with the vet about 1/2hr ago and he's hopeful but wary of complications that could arise. He also told us to go home n get some rest and he'll be checking on her every few hrs.
