I've been working on acrylic paint on fog wood pen barrels. The gloss takes WAY too many coats to cover, leaving an incomplete drying job, or the flats just chip durng hardware installation. I'm wondering if there's something I'm overlooking or if others have met the same failures. Had to take a razor blade on a scraper and start over two or three times on one prototype. Want to keep working on it, but not with diminishing returns this extreme. The glow in the dart stuff takes like 7 coats to go opaque. It's not working too well.
